Professor TANG Wenfang is the Presidential Chair Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and the Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science. He served as the Head and Chair Professor of the Division of Social Science at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Chair of the Department of Political Science and Stanley Hua-Hsia Chair Professor of Chinese Culture and Institution at the University of Iowa. Currently, he is the Executive Committee member of International Political Science Association’s Comparative Public Opinion Section, Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Political Science-Comparative Governance Section, and editorial board member of both Political Psychology and Advances in Political Psychology.
Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning

Professor WANG Lidi is the Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning of the School of Humanities and Social Science and Head of the Language Studies Division. He was formerly Dean of Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation, Beijing Foreign Studies University and a member of the National Steering Committee on MTI Education. His research interests include: studies in translation theory, T&I pedagogical studies, linguistics and applied linguistics.

Professor CHEN Jie is the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research of the School of Humanities and Social Science. He used to be Chair Professor at Southern University of Science and Technology, William Borah Distinguished Professor of Political Science at University of Idah, and Research Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He was listed as Highly Cited Chinese Researchers by Elsevier in 2022, and his projects were sponsored by severl major international research funds.
Associate Dean for Common Core

Professor GONG Wengao is the Associate Dean for Common Core and the Head of the Language Education Division, the School of Humanities and Social Science. Over the past forty years, he has worked in several institutions of higher education in both China and Singapore in his capacity as a teacher, an administrator, and a researcher. He joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen in 2015.
Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

Professor Li Xiaoyu is the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs of the School of Humanities and Social Science. Her research interests include visual studies, Chinese cultural history and critical studies of modernity, covering a wide range of fields and topics such as state, ethnicity and frontier, and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. Her research findings have been published in Core Journals in China and sponsored by national and provincial social science fundings. She also has extensive experience in student mentoring and leading students’ social practices.
