About Us

We are witnessing drastic and profound changes in our world, and China now is in pressing need of a cohort of young leaders with a global vision. The new generation must possess the ability to understand our increasingly complex and volatile world and interpret China through a global perspective. To this end, the Division of Global and Area Studies is dedicated to nurturing young talents who are keenly aware of the shifts in international relations, versed in the principles governing international politics and economics, and capable of analyzing global issues through the lens of comparative politics. Since its inception in 2019, the Division has put in place a comprehensive educational system, including an undergraduate major in International Organizations and Global Governance, a minor in Global Studies, as well as graduate programs including the Master of Arts in Global Studies and the MPhil-PhD in Global Studies. Our faculty is composed of globally recruited, renowned scholars, all of whom have either taught or studied at the world’s top universities, whose work has been published in leading scholarly journals and recognized with prestigious international awards. Furthermore, the Division actively fosters dialogue and collaboration with eminent global universities, research institutions, government bodies, and multinational corporations. This concerted effort aims to provide our students with a greater platform for employment, advanced studies, and personal growth.
