Abstract:
As the Nobel Prize Joseph Stiglitz said inequalities affect our belief in our meritocratic and democratic societies. While this fact has been demonstrated, it also seemed that our perceptions of inequalities are even more determining our belief in meritocracy. Dr. Maldonado will explain how such phenomenon exists in Chile, a South American country which served as a laboratory for neoliberal policies and the world bank's "Chicago boys".
