Dr. Corinne Doria is now a lecturer in General Education in the School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Dr. Doria obtained her PhD degree (first grade honors) from Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne University and her MA degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Milan.
From 2014 to 2018, Dr. Doria was a Lecturer at Sorbonne University. In 2019, she was a Senior Research Fellow at the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies at Columbia University (New York). From 2019 to 2021, she was a Professor at the School of Advanced Studies of the University of Tyumen (Russian Federation).
Dr. Doria has an extensive teaching experience in the fields of History, History of Ideas, History of Science and Technology, Medical Humanities and Disability Studies.
Dr. Doria's reserch focuses on the social history of medicine and disability. She is currently pursuing a reserch projec to the history of ophthalmology and visual impairment in the West between 1850 and 1950.
Dr. Doria has published four books, eighteen peer-reviewed articles, and ten book chapters. During the last three years, she has been awarded research fellowships and grants from several prestigious European and American institutions: Columbia University (USA), the Corning Museum of Glass (USA), the Deutsches Museum (Munich, Germany), and the Scientific Instrument Society (London, UK).
