Recently, Prof TAO Ran of the School of Humanities and Social Science of CUHK-Shenzhen published his new book Between People and Land: Urban and Rural Land Reform under China's Growth Model with Liaoning People's Publishing House. With a total of more than 400,000 words, the book is the first part of Prof TAO’s trilogy in China's economic transformation.   Part 1 About the Book

Recently, the 2022 Humanities and Social Science General Programs sponsored by the Ministry of Education of China has been announced.

Prof. TANG Wenfang, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Science, has published an paper named “Detecting Grassroots Bribery and Its Sources in China: A Survey Experimental Approach” in the Journal of Contemporary China, a world-class journal on contemporary Chinese affairs.

A Lecturer at the General Education Division and the Philosophy Minor Program, Dr. Liu Kuan-yen published three peer-reviewed research-based single-authored book chapters on Yan Fu’s (1854-1921) Thought and Pre-Qin (Pre-221 BC) Philosophy in the edited volumes published by internationally renowned publishers (Springer and Routledge) in 2020.

Exciting research still goes on during Covid times! Recently, 7 undergraduate students from the School of Humanities and Social Science (HSS) participated online in the 5th International Conference of the Semiosis Research Center (ICSRC) organized by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Seoul, Korea. They formed 3 groups and presented the findings of 3 semiotic studies during the week-long conference (June 29 – July 5, 2020).

Prof. Li Lan presented a joint-paper with Miss GU Yue, an undergraduate of School of Humanities and Social Science, at the 12th International Conference of The Asian Association for Lexicography (Asialex 2018) held on June 8-10 2018 in Krabi, Thailand.

Recently, two undergraduate papers from the School of Humanities and Social Science (HSS) have been accepted for full paper presentation at the forthcoming 16th International Pragmatics Conference to be held at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from June 9-14, 2019.

Zheng Lin and Wendong Cui, two young teachers from the School of Humanities and Social Science, have successfully applied for Youth Foundation of Ministry of Education.
