Introduction of Simultaneous Interpretation Lab
The first Simultaneous Interpreting Lab of School of Humanities and Social Science was built and put into use in 2016, with 120 square meters and 38 seats. The second Simultaneous Interpreting Lab was completed and put into use in 2019 with 173.8 square meters and 64 seats. The labs provide comprehensive practical environment for the undergraduates and postgraduates majoring in Translation, and undertake the experimental and practical teaching tasks for the professional courses of Interpreting and Simultaneous Interpreting. The labs are open to the students during non-class hours as well so that students can improve their interpreting skills through immersive simulation and repeated training.
New Campus simultaneous interpretation training system is adopted in the Simultaneous Interpreting labs, which are equipped with dedicated hard, software system for Simultaneous Interpreting. Students are able to truly integrate into the roles and situations of Simultaneous Interpretation, and train their language application ability and reaction ability in the interpretation scenarios.
