Call for Future Youth Leader: Sustainable Development Exploration Winter Camp
Program Overview
The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), addressing a wide range of global challenges—including poverty eradication, climate change mitigation, environmental protection, and social equity. As the most dynamic and innovative segment of society, young people play a vital role in achieving these goals. In response, the Department of Development and Governance and the Institute for Development and Governance at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, will jointly host the “Sustainable Development Exploration Journey Winter Camp” in December.
This program offers a rich array of teaching activities and corporate visits centered on sustainable development, tailored to meet students' intellectual interests and academic needs. Participants will not only experience university-level courses at a world-class institution, but also have the opportunity to engage with distinguished faculty and peers from around the globe. The program is to enhance students’ academic capabilities while fostering a strong sense of social responsibility and leadership.
Key Modules
- High Academic Quality: Led primarily by the world-class teaching team of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, this program upholds high academic standards, supporting interdisciplinary exploration and the development of academic skills. It aims to delve into the latest trends and multidisciplinary developments in the humanities and social sciences, covering topics such as AI and psychology, geopolitics and economics, urban renewal, green governance, and community development. Participants will engage in thematic lectures and group discussions, enhancing their awareness of key issues and encouraging multi-perspective thinking.
- Skills Enhancement: The program offers public service and project collaboration assignments, balancing academic rigor with practical innovation. There activities allow participants to apply their acquired knowledge in a variety of real-world scenarios. Through hands-on experience, students will develop problem-solving abilities, teamwork skills, and industry-relevant competencies that are applicable to future careers or academic research.
- Cultural Exchange: The program welcomes students from all over the world and will organize a series of "Global Youth Dialogues" activities, including lectures, forums, and cultural events. These activities are designed to cultivate students' cross-cultural and teamwork skills, fostering mutual understanding and global perspectives.
