“The Dialogue Between Artificial Intelligence and General Education” Symposium
Background
General Education plays a vital role in the mission of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) to provide a balanced undergraduate education for all students. It equips students with the intellectual capacity for understanding critical issues, ideas, and values of humanity and of modern society. It nurtures students to be educated persons capable of making informed judgment and taking up the challenges of this ever-changing world. Preparing students to be lifelong learners and engaged citizens with a global awareness, it targets their growth as whole persons rather than specialists.
The advent of artificial intelligence is poised to dramatically reshape the job market, both creating and eliminating roles, and will also profoundly alter higher education. Taking the opportunity of its 10th anniversary, the General Education Division of CUHK-Shenzhen plans to hold a seminar on the theme of "The Dialogue between Artificial Intelligence and General Education". The goal is to bring together experts and practitioners in the field of general education to explore how this domain can adapt to and thrive in an AI-driven world.
