Good News || Professor CHEN Yongqin once again included in the world’s top scientists by Research.com
The international academic website Research.com recently released the "2023 list of the world's top scientists". Professor CHEN Yongqin of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was selected for the list for two consecutive years, ranking 4180 in the field of Earth Science in the world and 190th in China, up 1316 and 77 places respectively from the previous year.

Professor CHEN Yongqin is currently a professor of the School of Humanities and Social Science and the Dean of Muse College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He was formerly Chairman of the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He graduated from Sun Yat-sen University in the mid-1980s and then went to the United States to obtain a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. His research has been widely published in academic journals (including top international journals such as Nature Climate Change and PNAS), as well as book volumes. He has received research awards from Ministry of Education and Chinese Society of Natural Resources, and has been included in Stanford University’s annual list of the world’s top 2% scientists in recent years. In addition to teaching, research and administrative work, Professor CHEN has been active in serving in various capacities in several academic groups, professional societies, and government advisory committees over the years. They include the President of the Professional Association for China’s Environment, the Vice President of China Environment, Resources and Ecological Conservation Society, a non-official member of the Urban Planning Board of Shenzhen, a member of the guiding committee of the undergraduate teaching of geographical sciences in Guangdong province, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Conservation E3 Foundation Limited, and a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Observatory.
